SportWest Connects with the Netball Community at Netball WA Association Championships

SportWest was proud to attend the Netball WA Association Championships at Matthews Netball Centre on Saturday, 30 May, engaging withthousands of players, parents, coaches, officials and volunteers from across Western Australia.

As one of the state's premier grassroots netball events, the Association Championships brought together communities from metropolitan and regional WA, creating an excellent opportunity for SportWest to connect directly with participants and share information about key initiatives that support safe, inclusive and positive sporting environments.

Throughout the day, the SportWest team hosted an activation focused on raising awareness of the True Sport program and the Best On Road initiative.

The True Sport program supports sporting organisations to foster positive cultures, strengthen governance practices and create environments where participants can thrive both on and off the field. By engaging directly with the netball community, SportWest was able to showcase the resources, education and support available to clubs, associations and sporting organisations across the state.

Attendees also had the opportunity to learn more about Best On Road, SportWest's road safety initiative that encourages safe travel practices for athletes, officials, volunteers and families travelling to and from sporting events. With many participants travelling significant distances to attend competitions, the program's messages around road safety and responsible travel resonated strongly with the netball community.

The activation provided a valuable opportunity to engage with community sport at the grassroots level, answer questions, distribute resources and build awareness of the programs available to support the sector.

SportWest would like to thank Netball WA for the opportunity to be part of the Association Championships and for their ongoing commitment to creating positive sporting experiences for participants across Western Australia.

We look forward to continuing to connect with sporting communities throughout the state and supporting organisations to build safe, inclusive and thriving sporting environments. If your sport has a community event you would like the True Sport team to attend, please let us know via our email below!
