16 Days in WA Webinar | Play Your Part. How Sport Can Take Action on Family and Domestic Violence.

As part of the state-wide 16 Days in WA campaign lead by the WA State Government, SportWest invites you to a thought-provoking webinar exploring the role sport can play in prevention and cultural change.

This year’s theme, Stopping Family and Domestic Violence: Play Your Part. calls on every individual and organisation to take action. In this session, we’ll hear from three exceptional panellists who bring national, community, and sport-specific perspectives:

Jemma Taylor Cross
Our Watch | Manager, Prevention Implementation in Sport
Jemma Taylor Cross is the Manager of Prevention Implementation in Sport at Our Watch, Australia’s national leader in the primary prevention of violence against women. With nearly 15 years of experience in the gender equity sector across international, national, and state-based settings, Jemma brings deep expertise in designing and delivering evidence-based initiatives that harness the power of sport to prevent violence against women. A passionate advocate for safe, inclusive and respectful sporting environments, Jemma is also a seasoned facilitator, consultant, and prevention practitioner. When she’s not working to drive cultural change, you’ll find her taking women’s Div 2 social netball way too seriously or cheering on her favourite teams across Big Bash cricket, rugby union, and AFLW.

Caroline Tuthill
Starick | Program Manager Respectful Relationships
For the last three years Caroline has been leading Starick’s Respectful Relationships programs. Caroline engages with SSA’s, clubs and local governments to promote respect, inclusion, safety and gender equality through the Respectful Relationships Sport and Recreation Program. Caroline has more than 15 years’ experience in senior positions in Government working on whole of government strategies including to advance gender equality and supporting government agencies to implement initiatives that raise awareness of family and domestic violence and gender equality.

Clayton Anderson
WA Football | Integrity Education Specialist

He has held key roles including WA State AFL Auskick Manager, WA State Manager School Competitions and Programs, Talent Manager at South Fremantle Football Club, and currently serves as WA Football's Integrity Unit Specialist. Clayton chairs the WA Football Education Committee and is a member of the Starick Respectful Relationships Steering Group.

The webinar will also feature an overview of the True Sport Respectful Relationships Initiative, developed in partnership with Starick and supported by the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport.
