If you feel someone is at an immediate risk, or is in a life threatening situation – call triple zero (000)
Everyone in community sport can help promote and support the mental health and wellbeing of others.
SportWest’s True Sport Toolkits will provide information on how to do this and how to become a Mental Health Champion in your community.
Mental Health Champions can direct members to appropriate mental health resources and services, including the eToolkits and services listed below. It is important to remember however, that it is not your role to treat or diagnose mental health issues as a community sport administrator or volunteer. Mental health and wellbeing issues concerns should be referred to a mental health expert for professional advice.
A General Practitioner (GP) can be a great starting point if you or someone you know has a mental health concern and is not sure where to go for help. Visit The Mental Health Commission and Think Mental Health for more information on accessing GP assistance for mental health and wellbeing issues.
Links Directory
The following directory provides a sample of some organisations that may be suitable for community sport groups. If a service you contact does not meet your requirements, try another listed or look for other options that may be a best fit for your specific needs. There are many other supports available, the challenge is finding the right fit for you. Reminder – the links above can help with this process if you are unsure where to start or feel lost finding the right service.

The directory has been designed to be brief and user-friendly and therefore does not list specific and smaller niche organisations. Limited space is available on the registry so not all organisations can be listed.
