Sport Integrity Australia (SIA), in collaboration with the WA Government and SportWest successfully delivered an educational session on Anti-Doping on Thursday, 5 March 2026. More than 30 WA sports came together for the latest WA Integrity Network Forum, hosted by Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) in collaboration with the WA Government and SportWest.
The session, Introduction to Anti‑Doping, provided State Sporting Associations with practical insight into Australia’s anti-doping framework and the role sporting organisations play in maintaining a clean, safe and fair environment for all participants.
Held at the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS) in Leederville, the forum brought integrity leads, administrators, and volunteers together to build capability and strengthen WA’s collective approach to sport integrity.
Deepening sector knowledge
Attendees heard from Steve Wyatt, Assistant Director at Sport Integrity Australia, who shared his extensive experience from 25 years with Victoria Police as a Detective Senior Sergeant and seven years as the first full‑time Integrity Manager at the Richmond Football Club.
Steve provided:
- A clear and accessible introduction to anti‑doping in Australia
- Real examples of best practice in managing integrity matters
- Insights into SIA’s current investigative approach and case coordination
- Guidance on the responsibilities of sporting organisations
Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss common challenges, and connect with peers from across WA’s sporting landscape.
Strengthening WA’s Integrity culture
With representatives from over 30 State Sporting Associations in the room, the forum highlighted the strong and growing commitment across the sector to upholding integrity and ensuring sport remains a safe place for all.
This aligns with True Sport’s mission to support the sector with the tools, knowledge and capability needed to champion positive sporting environments.
Thank you
True Sport extends its thanks to Sport Integrity Australia, the WA Government, and all attendees who contributed to another valuable learning and networking opportunity for the WA Integrity Network.
We look forward to continuing to work together to build a strong, consistent and coordinated approach to integrity across WA sport.
