
InThe City of Kalamunda is hosting the next Child Safe Community of Practice meeting, bringing together local clubs, community leaders, and sport administrators to strengthen child safety in sport.
SportWest will join as a guest presenter, delivering an insightful session on the True Sport Child Safeguarding Initiative and its role in embedding the 10 National Principles for Child Safe Organisations into everyday club operations.
What You’ll Learn
- Recognising and responding to signs of harm
- Establishing clear codes of conduct for coaches, volunteers, and spectators
- Creating safe physical and emotional spaces for children
- Promoting positive sideline behaviour and respectful communication
The session will also showcase True Sport’s values-based approach (S.P.O.R.T) and outline resources available to clubs, including safeguarding toolkits, mental health and wellbeing initiatives, and inclusion support.
