Youth Perspectives on Sport Survey
Your Voice Matters
SportWest is working with the WA Government and The University of Western Australia to learn more about what it's really like to be a young person involved in sport.
If you're in high school and have permission from your parent or guardian, we'd love to hear from you.
This survey is your chance to share your thoughts, experiences and feelings about sport in WA. Whether sport makes you feel confident, connected and excited, or whether you've faced challenges along the way, your experiences matter.
The information collected will help us better understand what young people need from sport and help shape future programs, resources and support for young people, families, clubs and sporting organisations across the state.
Before You Start
- You must have permission from your parent or guardian to take part. Before deciding whether to provide consent, parents are encouraged to review the Parent Information.
- Your participation is voluntary and you can stop the survey at any time.
- Your responses will be kept confidential and used for research and planning purposes.
Need Support?
As you reflect on personal experiences, if anything raises concerns for you, support is available:
- Kids Helpline (5-25 years): https://kidshelpline.com.au | 1800 55 1800
- headspace: https://headspace.org.au
- ReachOut: https://au.reachout.com
- If you feel unsafe or need urgent help, contact 000 or speak with a trusted adult immediately.
Thank you for helping us create better sporting experiences for young people across Western Australia. Your voice can help make sport more fun, safe, welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
If you’re interested in keeping up to date with the Youth project or have any questions, we’d love to hear from you at beth@sportwest.com.au.
