DLGSC Regional Coffee & Chat – Spotlight on True Sport Child Safeguarding Initiative
The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) has partnered with SportWest to deliver the latest edition of the popular DLGSC Regional Coffee and Chat, focusing on the True Sport Child Safeguarding Initiative across regional Western Australia.
This session is a collaborative approach between SportWest, DLGSC and Sport Integrity Australia to provide resources and tools that are fit-for-purpose for the community sporting sector.
Event Details
The True Sport Child Safeguarding Initiative is designed to help State Sport Associations (SSAs) understand, navigate, and implement the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. This webinar will introduce:
- Jasmine Cappellucci, True Sport Manager, SportWest will present on resources such as Working with Children Checks, Reporting Flowcharts and Self-Assessment Tools to work through each National Principle and identify areas for improvement. Additionally the Action Plan Framework, which provides sport-tailored examples to guide implementation.
- There will also be a showcase of the True Sport resource hub, with access to 75+ Resources to build organisational capacity and capability to embed child-safe practices.
- Alexa Wilkins, Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries will present on the Child Safeguarding Implementation Unit's role in safeguarding in sport in Western Australia.
