SportWest’s True Sport team is heading to Western Australia’s South West region to present at the annual LIWA Regional Forum, hosted by the Royal Life Saving Society WA (RLSSWA) at South West Sports Centre in Withers, WA.
Event Focus
This interactive workshop will cover two critical topics:
- Child Safeguarding – Practical strategies to protect young people in aquatic and recreation environments.
- Mental Health & Wellbeing – Tools to support staff and create psychologically safe spaces, how to help someone who may need support with their mental health and the Employee and Volunteer Assistance program available to community sport.
What to Expect
- Engaging activities and sport-specific scenarios
- Practical resources for Lifeguards, Pool Managers, and regional RLSSWA staff
- Guidance on fostering safer, more supportive environments for children and staff
