Mental Health Champions Network Session 2
This 2.5 hour session unpacks the trauma informed approach when working with colleagues, volunteers and community members who have been impacted by trauma. Participants will learn about:
- Complex trauma
- Impacts of trauma on brain development and memory
- The relationship between complete trauma in early childhood and behaviours and emotional responses throughout life, and;
- Applying trauma informed care principles to aspects of colleague and volunteer engagement
A Mental Health Champion is the driver within their State Sporting Association (SSA) creating and promoting supportive mental health environments. The role provides support and direction on mental health and wellbeing matters as well as help drive positive culture.
