WA Football I Working with Children Checks in Sport Webinar

SportWest’s True Sport team, in partnership with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Sport Integrity Australia, is delivering a powerful session focused on Safeguarding in Sport for WA Football and affiliated clubs.

This one-hour online information session will give you an overview of the Working with Children Checks in the sport and recreation sector and answer some frequently asked questions.

Why Attend?

This interactive workshop will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to create safe, inclusive, and protective environments for all participants - especially children and young people.

Developed by the Working with Working Check Screening Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, SportWest and Sport Integrity Australia, the online session will cover:

  • What is the WWC Check and who needs one
  • Organisational obligations
  • Record keeping and governance
  • Frequently asked questions from the sport and recreation sector
  • Available tools and resources
  • Recruitment and Screening of Staff and Volunteers in Child-Related Positions.

Attendees will gain access to:

  • True Sport Child Safeguarding Initiative
  • Sport Integrity Australia Resource Hub, including:
    • Policy templates and implementation guides
    • Training modules for staff and volunteers
    • Practical tools for responding to concerns and disclosures
