Saturday 10 October 2026 | Mandurah, Western Australia
True Sport Project Officers Rebekah and Bree represented True Sport and SportWest at the Mandurah Aquatic Recreation Centre (MARC) Club Open Day on Saturday 10 October, connecting with the local community and promoting the importance of positive sporting environments.
The event provided an opportunity to strengthen True Sport's connection with community sport in Mandurah and highlight the role everyone plays in creating safe, positive and respectful sporting experiences.
Building Positive Sporting Cultures
Delivered by SportWest, True Sport supports the Western Australian sport sector to build and sustain positive sporting cultures through initiatives that promote respect, inclusion, safety and wellbeing.
From participants and coaches to officials, volunteers, parents and spectators, everyone has a role to play in shaping the sporting environment. The behaviours demonstrated on and off the field can have a lasting impact on whether people feel welcome, supported and motivated to remain involved in sport.
Through initiatives such as the Sideline Behaviour Initiative, True Sport encourages individuals and sporting organisations to reflect on their behaviours and take practical steps towards creating more positive sporting experiences.
With the message “Your behaviour is always in play,” True Sport reinforces the importance of individual and collective responsibility in building respectful sporting communities.
Supporting Community Sport Across WA
Engagement opportunities such as the MARC Club Open Day help strengthen connections between True Sport, SportWest and the wider sporting community.
By continuing to raise awareness of positive sporting behaviours and the resources available to sporting organisations, True Sport aims to support clubs and communities to create environments where everyone can participate, feel respected and enjoy the benefits of sport.
SportWest thanks the team at the Mandurah Aquatic Recreation Centre for the opportunity to be involved in the Club Open Day and looks forward to continuing to support positive sporting cultures across Western Australia.
Together, we're building stronger sporting communities.
