True Sport Extends Partnership with Access Wellbeing for Enhanced Employee and Volunteer Support Services

Following the pilot program launched in November 2023 with the support of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, SportWest have announced the extension of its partnership with Access Wellbeing Services, a premier provider of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and Volunteer Assistance Programs (VAP) and general mental health and wellbeing services. This extended partnership aims to further support eligible SportWest member organisations and their volunteers to increase accessibility to crucial counselling and post-critical incident support services.

The extended partnership between SportWest and Access Wellbeing Services reflects a shared commitment to prioritizing the mental health and wellbeing of State Sporting Associations (SSA) employees and volunteers. This partnership now includes up to five sessions per employee and volunteer (increased from three sessions), as well as club and organisation access to grief and loss counselling sessions, providing crucial critical incident response support to our SSAs and their clubs.

"SportWest are proud to continue our partnership with Access Wellbeing Services to provide our members with access to professional and confidential mental health services. This program coupled with our extensive True Sport resource hub delivers both proactive and responsive supports in an holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing for the WA sporting industry, based on feedback from the industry.”
