SportWest is proud to announce that True Sport, its sector-wide and nation-leading initiative, has been named a finalist in two categories at the prestigious 2026 Australian Institute of Management WA Pinnacle Awards.
True Sport has been recognised as a finalist in both the Corporate Social Impact Excellence Award and the Local Engagement Excellence Award, highlighting the program's commitment to creating safer, stronger and more inclusive sporting environments across Western Australia.
The recognition reflects the impact True Sport is having through its collaborative approach to tackling some of the most important challenges facing sport today, including safeguarding, integrity, inclusion, respectful relationships, dispute resolution and participant wellbeing.
Since its establishment, True Sport has brought together sporting organisations, community leaders, subject matter experts and government partners to support clubs, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents and participants with practical tools, education and resources that help strengthen sporting cultures and communities.
The initiative's impact has also been independently recognised through an evaluation conducted by the University of Western Australia, which found that True Sport is driving meaningful change across the sector by increasing awareness, knowledge and implementation of best practice in areas such as safeguarding, integrity and inclusion. The evaluation highlighted the program's strong contribution to building safer and more positive sporting environments, while fostering greater collaboration and capability across the Western Australian sport sector.
Jasmine Cappellucci, True Sport Manager at SportWest said the dual finalist recognition is a testament to the collective effort of the many organisations and individuals contributing to positive change across the sector.

SportWest CEO Troy Kirkham said the finalist recognition reflects both the growth of the True Sport movement and the sector's shared commitment to creating positive sporting environments for all Western Australians.

The winners will be announced at the AIM WA Pinnacle Awards Gala Dinner at Crown Perth on Thursday 19 November 2026.
