True Sport Team Attends National Sport Integrity Australia Law Enforcement Conference

On Tuesday, 20 October 2026, SportWest’s True Sport team attended the 2026 Sport Integrity Australia Law Enforcement Conference at Optus Stadium, Perth, joining leaders, National Integrity Managers from sport, law enforcement, safeguarding, government and integrity agencies from across Australia.

Hosted by Sport Integrity Australia, the conference focused on strengthening collaboration to protect participants and enhance integrity outcomes across sport. The program explored key topics including managing persons of interest in sport, safeguarding investigations, intelligence-led risk identification and assessment, information sharing, and partnership-based approaches to participant protection.

Delegates heard from a range of experts from Sport Integrity Australia, law enforcement agencies, researchers and national sporting organisations, with sessions highlighting how intelligence capabilities and cross-sector collaboration can support the early identification, assessment and prevention of safeguarding risks in sport.

The conference also showcased practical case studies demonstrating how effective partnerships between sport, police and integrity agencies can strengthen responses to safeguarding concerns and support safer sporting environments for participants.

For the True Sport team, the conference provided a valuable opportunity to connect with integrity leaders from across the country, share learnings and strengthen relationships that support participant safety and wellbeing throughout Western Australia.

Jasmine Cappellucci, True Sport Manager at SportWest, said the conference reinforced the importance of collaboration in creating safe and inclusive sporting environments.

"Protecting children, young people and all participants in sport requires strong and enduring partnerships across the sporting, government, law enforcement and integrity sectors. This conference reinforced the importance of collaboration, information sharing and collective action in strengthening safeguarding and integrity outcomes across Australian sport.

Bringing together leaders from across these sectors creates valuable opportunities to build trusted relationships, align approaches and enhance our collective capability to respond to emerging challenges. Through initiatives such as True Sport, SportWest is committed to working alongside national, state and local partners to advance participant safety, strengthen integrity outcomes and support safer sporting environments throughout Western Australia.

We thank Sport Integrity Australia for its leadership in convening this important forum and fostering the partnerships that help protect participants and strengthen the integrity of sport nationwide."

SportWest extends its sincere thanks to Sport Integrity Australia for delivering the conference and creating a valuable forum for collaboration between sport, law enforcement and government.
