Upcoming Basketball-Focused Youth Mental Health Workshop for Mandurah Sporting Community

Calling all coaches, volunteers, and parents involved in basketball and community sport! You're invited to attend the upcoming Youth Mental Health Workshop: Critical Incident Response, presented by True Sport AU in partnership with Mandurah Basketball Association and the City of Mandurah.

This free workshop is open to all clubs affiliated with Mandurah Basketball Association and will be held at the City of Mandurah MARC. It offers a valuable opportunity for club leaders to gain practical knowledge and tools to support young people during critical incidents in a sporting environment.

Workshop Overview:

Facilitated by Kellie Lewis from The Mental Health Project, an industry expert in youth mental health, this session will guide participants through:

  • Developing a critical incident response plan for their club
  • Understanding best-practice steps to take during and after an incident
  • Communicating effectively with athletes, families, and stakeholders
  • Accessing support resources and referral pathways
  • Using debriefing and follow-up to promote long-term wellbeing
