The True Sport Cultural Education Initiative Resource Hub brings together a practical set of foundational resources for State Sporting Associations, clubs and sport leaders across Western Australia, giving organisations a clear starting point to build cultural awareness, understanding and capability.
Designed to be practical, WA-specific and easy to use, the hub supports sporting organisations and clubs to create environments that are culturally safe, respectful and inclusive for First Nations people. It also provides guidance to help embed culturally informed practices across governance, leadership and day-to-day delivery.
Grounded in the Western Australian sporting landscape and developed in collaboration with Phil and Jade Narkle, the resources are intended as foundational tools that organisations and clubs can use to strengthen engagement with First Nations communities, guide better practice and take meaningful steps toward reconciliation through sport.
"We are proud and honoured to be part of SportsWest’s journey towards a more inclusive sporting community, where diversity is celebrated, everyone feels valued and respected, and sport continues to bring people together regardless of background, culture, or identity." – Phil Narkle and Jade Narkle
The Resource Hub includes a suite of materials that clubs and sporting organisations can use as a foundation for planning, education, event delivery and everyday practice, including:
