SportWest is thrilled to report an overwhelming response to the launch of the True Sport Sideline Behaviour Initiative, with over 80 sports administrators from across Western Australia joining the webinar to support a united stand against poor sideline behaviour in sport.
In partnership with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the True Sport Sideline Behaviour Initiative, powered by SportWest, is a bold campaign aimed at raising awareness of the negative impact of inappropriate sideline conduct and inspiring a cultural shift across sporting environments. The initiative provides State Sporting Associations (SSAs), clubs and volunteers with a suite of resources to help drive behaviour change and promote respectful sporting experiences for all.
During the webinar, attendees were introduced to the campaign’s key components, including:
- A compelling campaign hero video for all of WA sport to utilise
- A variety of social media tiles and promotional images
- A detailed campaign toolkit with messaging, hashtags, suggested copy, and a promotional timeline
The official launch of the campaign video and assets took place on Tuesday, 3 October 2023, marking a significant milestone in WA sport and a collective stance to foster safer, more inclusive sporting environments. Through a targeted marketing campaign and a suite of digital resources, the initiative aims to inspire meaningful change across clubs, associations, and the wider community.
SportWest encourages all SSAs and affiliated clubs to actively promote the campaign across their digital platforms and share it widely with their networks. By following the campaign timeline, organisations can help amplify the message and build a unified industry voice.
