Sport development professionals across Western Australia are invited to strengthen their safeguarding knowledge and capability at the upcoming Safeguarding for Healthy Participant Experiences workshop for SSAs, presented by the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport in partnership with Sport Integrity Australia.
Taking place on Monday 19 October 2026 from 9:00am to 11:00am AWST, this practical and interactive workshop has been designed specifically for pathway managers, participation officers, sport development staff and program coordinators who play a critical role in shaping the experiences of children and young people in sport.
As participation pathways continue to evolve, safeguarding remains an essential component of delivering positive, safe and rewarding sporting experiences. This workshop will explore how safeguarding principles can be embedded throughout development programs, participation pathways and athlete journeys to create environments where young people feel supported, respected and empowered to thrive.
Participants will gain practical insights into the role sport development professionals play in fostering healthy participant experiences and strengthening safeguarding practices within their organisations.
