Community sport plays a vital role in creating positive experiences for children and young people, and fostering safe, welcoming and inclusive environments is a responsibility shared by everyone involved.
The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, in partnership with Sport Integrity Australia, is inviting club committee members, volunteers, administrators and community sport leaders to attend the upcoming Safeguarding for Healthy Participant Experiences workshop.
Taking place on Monday 19 October 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm AWST, this practical introductory session will provide guidance on how community sporting clubs and associations can strengthen safeguarding practices and support positive experiences for all participants.
Designed specifically for grassroots sport, the workshop will explore the important role clubs, volunteers and administrators play in ensuring children and young people feel safe, supported and valued when participating in sport.
Participants will leave with practical tools and strategies that can be applied immediately within their club or association to help create environments where every participant can thrive.
